| que acaso es otro tiempo que yo tampoco he visto | Which perhaps is another time I have not seen
| y que reaparece ahora en esta pausa, | And which reappears now in this pause
| en la que todo acaba por transparentarse | Wherein all finally becomes transparent
| o interrumpirse, reiniciarse o desaparecer | Or interrupts itself, restarts or disappears
| como yo mismo aquí siendo a la vez | Like I myself, being at once
| la pausa, el mar, el agua, la penumbra, | The pause, the sea, the water, the penumbra,
| siendo y no siendo todo eso a la vez, | Being and not being all that at one time,
| siendo mi propia sensación de nada | Being my own sense of nothingness
| y viéndome en sus luces hundirme como un bulto | And seeing myself sink into its lights
| en un lienzo de sombras, | Like a shape into a shadowy canvas
| en el que una figura inicia su morir y en su fondo se salva | In which a figure starts to die and in its depths is saved
| en un tiempo sin tiempo que ocurre más allá: | In a timeless time which takes place farther off,
| que le sucede a otro que cree que es ahora yo | Which happens to someone who thinks he is myself
| como yo mismo creo que soy él | As I think I am he,
| y que él, y no yo, es quien comienza | And that he, not I, it is who now begins
| esta ficción del yo, esta pausa, este mar, esta penumbra. | This fiction of the I, this pause, this sea and this penumbra.
