DOS TWO
Laureano Alba trans. Brian Cole

I have been in the winds that sleep
in the windmills in Holland,
and at every step I would find you
playing with my body.

I have been in the Swiss Alps, that count
butterflies under the snow which they never forget
and the water's landscape has brought me back
to you who are the morning of the winds.

I have been by the Rhine, that river
flying through several countries
that are loving like the sun in old stories
and there you were, singing.

I have been on the canals of Amsterdam
thinking of a paradise that is lost to me
in the suburbs of dreams
and there you were, still sleeping and beautiful.

Y allí has pasado cantando

Y te he encontrado aśn dormida y bella.
