SEBASTIANA V ZÁHRADESEBASTIANA IN THE GARDEN
Mila Haugovátrans. James & Viera Sutherland-Smith (from Slovak)
(à George Trakl)

privel'a vie o mne moja záhrada. moje rastliny rastú
v tebe bezo mňa. korene sa dotýkajú v lone. všetky
slová. v záhrade tela. mimo sna. je miesto
kde nič
nerastie. stopa vzdialených úst. vydýcha si jaskyňu
pre snové korene. medzi ohradou a múrom. voda stále
neviditel'ne v listoch stúpa. tieň ako nôž. dievčatko
si zroluje podkolienky. už by mala byt' doma. koža
splnu
sa roztiahne nad tiene. počuje svoje telo: krajina
okolo ako cudzinec. tekutá. s dvomi dušami. bude nahá
ked' prídeš. reč v ktorej hovoria tiene:
sestra spí
v bratovom mene ...
(à George Trakl)

my garden knows too much about me. my plants grow
in you without me. in my lap roots touch. all
the words. in the garden of the body. besides the dream. a place
where nothing
grows. the trace of a distant mouth. it exhales a cave
for dream roots. between the fence and the wall. water always
rises invisibly in leaves. a shadow like a knife. a little girl
rolls down her leggings. she already should be at home. the skin
of the full moon
unfolds over shadows. she listens to her own body: the landscape
around like a stranger. fluid. with two souls. she will be naked
when you come. the language in which shadows speak:
the sister sleeps
in her brother's name ...
