THE THREE CHURCHES LES TRES ESGLÉSIES
Robert Gurney trans. Pere Bessó (from Spanish into Catalán)

I saw them walking
after dinner
towards the bank
of the Río Negro.

The water
was like a mirror.

In it they could see
reflected
the lights
of Carmen de Patagones.

Its church
under the moon
resembles the one
in Portugalete
by the estuary of the Nervión

and the one
under a violet sun
hanging on my wall
that Dalí knew
in Cadaqués.

Els viu caminar,
després del sopar,
fins a la vora
del Riu Negre.

L’aigua
era com un espill.

S’hi veien
reflectides
les llums
de Carmen de Patagones.

La seua església
davall de la lluna
s’assembla a aquella
de Portugalete
a la boca del Nervión

i a aqueixa,
davall d’un sol violeta,
penjada a la meua paret,
que Dalí coneixia
a Cadaqués.
